Driftline shows rip-current risk and tide forecasts for the beach. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking.
None. Driftline has no accounts and no servers of its own. It does not collect personal data, usage analytics, device identifiers, or diagnostics, and it contains no advertising or tracking SDKs.
When you search for a beach, the place name you type is sent to Apple's geocoding service to convert it into map coordinates. Driftline does not access your device's GPS location and does not store your searches. (A future update may add an optional “use my location” feature; this policy will be updated if it does.)
To show conditions, Driftline requests public forecast data directly from the U.S. National Weather Service (rip-current risk and alerts) and NOAA Tides & Currents (tides and water temperature). These requests include only a beach's coordinates and a generic app identifier — no personal information.
Driftline offers a one-time, optional purchase (“Driftline Pro”) that unlocks alerts and unlimited saved beaches. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, payment card, or any billing details. Apple's handling of the transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The app stores only a local record of whether the unlock has been purchased, kept on your device by the operating system.
If you enable alerts (a Driftline Pro feature), notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your device.
Driftline is safe for all ages. Because it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Since Driftline collects no data, any changes are expected to be minor.
